Healthcare
In order to strengthen the social infrastructure, with private partnership, the State encourages investment in health sector. Rajasthan has witnessed tremendous growth in terms of healthcare facilities and infrastructure over recent years. Renowned names including Fortis Escorts and Apollo enjoy an established presence in the State, with many more set to foray. Presently, the State has over 126 hospitals and 201 Dispensaries, and a total patient bed capacity of 42,220. |
Education
The Government of Rajasthan has laid great emphasis on providing quality education at all levels of schooling. The State Government has initiated efforts to provide free and compulsory education for the age group 6 - 14 years and free distribution of books. The total enrolment in Government-sponsored Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary and Senior Secondary schools stands at nearly 129 lakh students from the age group 6 - 14 years. A number of renowned private institutions including St. Xavier's, Mayo College, Ryan International and Delhi Public Schools are present in various cities across the State. |
Higher Education
Significant progress has been made in the field of higher education over recent years. With over 729 institutes including 64 Engineering Colleges, 38 Polytechnic Institutes and 431 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), higher education has witnessed an unprecedented surge as the seating capacity has tripled since 2003-04. World-renowned institutions, including Raffles University, Singapore, Manipal University and NIIT are set to commence operations soon. |
