All parts of the State are well connected by road, with a road length of close to 180,000 km. Of these, 5,655 km are national highways, 11,615 km are state highways and 7,340 km are major district roads.
Thirteen national highways crisscrossing the State facilitate easy movement between all major cities of the State and commercial hubs around it.
Under the State's Mega Highways Project, over 1000 km of road stretches joining national highways are being upgraded into expressways, providing better and quicker connectivity of key industrial hubs to ports and markets.

Road Infrastructure Development Company of Rajasthan Ltd (RIDCOR) is an ambitious initiative of Government of Rajasthan for improving the State's road infrastructure with the objective of positioning it as the country's most favoured investment and tourism destination. RIDCOR is a public limited company constituted as a 50:50 joint initiative of Government of Rajasthan and Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Ltd (IL&FS). In essence, RIDCOR represents an ideal Public-Private Partnership (PPP) relationship and is poised to emerge as a blue print for similar road development projects across the country.
