| Industrial Areas Rajasthan State Industrial and Investment Corporation (RIICO), a State Government agency, has developed more than 300 industrial areas. These industrial areas are developed with water, power, roads, shops and telecommunication facilities. Special Purpose Industrial Parks (SPIPs) RIICO is developing Theme Parks (SPIPs) with special set of infrastructure and facilities for establishing industries of the same discipline. Some of these include:
Export Promotion Industrial Parks have been set up at Sitapura in Jaipur, Neemrana in Alwar and Boranada in Jodhpur. EPIP Jaipur is the largest export park in northern India. Special Economic Zones (SEZs) RIICO has set up two Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in the State for Gems & Jewellery and Handicrafts at Jaipur and Jodhpur respectively. These zones are free from all domestic tax burdens and procedural bottlenecks. A state-of-the-art multi-product SEZ is being developed by Mahindra & Mahindra Group with an investment of Rs.11 billion, the IT zone of which will have Infosys and Wipro as anchor investors. Additionally, formal approvals have been given to 4 other private SEZs. |
